Exceptionally elegant spiral spindle unfinished wood finial. The finial was used on the Ridgeway 2538 Biltmore Vanderbilt limited edition grandfather clock.
Overall length: 7 1/2". Spindle length: 2 1/4".
Width at widest part: 3.18" and width at base where the wood peg attaches 2.93".
Wood dowel: .38"L x .34" diameter.
The finial is original, new, and was manufactured by the Howard Miller Clock Company at its factory.
Ridgeway Biltmore Vanderbilt Limited Edition Grandfather Clock 2538 History
The clock was finished in Estate Cherry (Bordeaux cherry), the solid hardwood case features only the finest American Cherry and Crotch Mahogany. The gracefully arched split pediment design shows a book matched crotch mahogany field that is framed with an inlaid border of hard maple and ebonized anegre. The featured vine motif combines Avodire, Black Cherry, Magnolia, and Padauk in a brilliant arrangement. The clock top crown has a spiral carved finial.
