Herschede - American Crown of Hall Clocks book was launched at the NAWCC National Convention June 24, 2022 in Dayton, Ohio. After six-years of research the book is now available for the collectors and historians.
In the book Christine Griffen, author, expertly chronicles the company’s evolution. It is a tale laced with vision, tenacity, and a commitment to exceptional quality. In 500 pages - filled with executive profiles; family stories; little-known facts; financial analysis; and about 1,000 images, including product renderings, catalog covers, advertisements, personal photography of people connected to the company and horological legacy. Griffen takes readers behind the trademark crown and into the history of The Herschede Hall Clock Co.
The book has a linen hard cover with the book name and crown in gold. The dust cover front shows The Frank Herschede Company November 1921 grand opening with the Pattern 120 on the mezzanine where Frank and Sadie Herschede greeted their guests. The back dust cover shows a 1923 Pattern 83 exquisite craftsmanship. The inside book endleaves are from the Herschede drawing archives and were very large original Herschede drawings with the front endleave of the Herschede chapter ring 3D assembly view and the back endleave is the December 1912 mercury pendulum drawing.
