KIENINGER QPA12 STRONG COIL 1/2" CHIMING QUARTZ PENDULUM MOV
The Kieninger QPA12-00 quartz chime pendulum movement features a powerful high-output coil designed to drive heavier, ornate pendulums in both wall and small grandmother floor clocks. The chime has a rich, high-quality sound, reminiscent of a tubular bell.
The QPA12 is a direct replacement for the Hermle 2214 and 2215 pendulum quartz movements.
Features:
- 1/2" (16mm) shaft .1905" (4.84mm) hour shaft diameter for dials that are up to 1/4" thick. Hermle or Kieninger battery hands fit this shaft.
- I-shaft threaded tip (requires I-shaft battery hands)
- Dual chime with Westminster or Ave Maria. The chimes play on each 1/4 hour and full melody at the hour and strikes the hour. Or can select to play the full Westminster chime and hour strike at the hour.
- Select the chime play between 24 hours a day or nighttime reduced volume for 8 hours.
- Volume control.
- 2 9/16" (66mm) speaker with high-quality sound.
- Speaker wires are 12 1/2" (32cm) long to allow mounting the speaker at the top of the case for optimal sound quality.
- Movement frame: 4 1/4"W x 2 1/4"H.
- Hardware included: fixation mounting nut, rubber washer, minute hand nut, and cap.
- Requires a Kieninger style pendulum hook, the Seiko breakaway rods with a solid hook will not fit.
QPA12 requires two "C" batteries which are not included. I-shaft hands or pendulum are not included.

The QPA12 was used in Howard Miller Model 620226 Maxwell at overall case size of 34 1/4" and the Howard Miller Model 625551 Arendal II large 49" wall clock with a wood stick pendulum. The movement can also be used in grandmother clock cases with light weight pendulums.
