Dial Centers, Corners, and Second Bits

Dial centers and corners are available in a range of designs, colors, and attachment methods.

The majority of the design centers and corners are made from materials like embossed aluminum, heavy cast metal, cast poly resin, cut glass, or open-cut and etched—none of these are plastic.  There are some silver and brass colored plastic corners that press into the smaller square dial face plates.

Definitions:

  • The dial face plate is the main brass sheet where all the dial components are attached. These components include chapter rings, corners, and dial centers, and they can be secured to the plate by screws, rivets, or glue.
  • Moon phase disc is the round moving stars and moon.  These are attached via a moon post and moon hex nut.
  • Thick, heavy cast designs can be screwed from the back of the faceplate. The dial centers feature matching corners that are also secured from the back of the faceplate. Matching pendulum bob disc centers without holes in the cast design are also available.
  • Embossed aluminum designs can be adhered to a dial or other types of surfaces.
  • Open cut and etched designs can be screwed to the dial face plate.  You can see the face plate metal behind the open cut design.
