Kieninger Decorative Pendulums

When selecting a Kieninger replacement pendulum, you will need to understand the movement pendulum requirements.  Check the back of the Kieninger movement brass plate for the engraved pendulum length.  See the example Kieninger SKS-15 movement engraving picture.

The typical grandfather and grandmother pendulum length requirements will be 93, 100, 116, and 130cm.

The typical wall clock pendulum length requirements will be 29, 35, 43, 48, 54, 65, 72, and 80cm.

The pendulum length requirements are made up of three numbers that should equal the movement pendulum length.  For example, a Kieninger grandfather movement that has 116cm pendulum engraved the calculation is the suspension spring length (~1"L) + pendulum leader (grandfather 7"L) + physical pendulum length which when totaled should be around 116cm.

The physical pendulum length does not equal/match the Kieninger movement engraved number.  The physical pendulum lengths also vary due to weight of the bob (round disk).  A lyre decorative pendulum weighs more than a wood stick pendulum and causes the length of the pendulum to be different as well.

The Kieninger decorative pendulums are sorted in different length categories.
