Hermle Decorative Pendulums

When selecting a Hermle replacement pendulum, you will need to understand the movement pendulum requirements.  Check the back of the Hermle movement brass plate for the engraved pendulum length.  See the example Hermle 451-053 114cm movement engraving picture.

The typical grandfather and grandmother pendulum length requirements will be 66, 75, 85, 94, 100, and 114cm.

The typical wall clock pendulum length requirements will be 25, 26.5, 27, 29, 31, 32, 34, 38, 43, 45, 48, 52, and 55cm.

The pendulum length requirements are made up of three numbers that should equal the movement pendulum length.  For example, a Hermle grandfather movement that has 114cm pendulum engraved the calculation is the suspension spring length (~1"L) + pendulum leader (grandfather 5 1/2"L) + physical pendulum length which when totaled should be around 114cm.

The physical pendulum length does not equal/match the Hermle movement engraved number.  The physical pendulum lengths also vary due to weight of the bob (round disk).  A lyre decorative pendulum weighs more than a wood stick pendulum and causes the length of the pendulum to be different as well.

The Hermle pendulums are sorted in different length categories.
