GRANDFATHER CLOCK QUARTZ MOVEMENT CONVERSION KIT
The conversion kit supports many options such as keeping an old family heirloom clock in service after the mechanical movement is no longer available or too costly to restore. Or tinkering with a grandfather clock found in an estate sell that has many possibilities.
The grandfather conversion kit comes with a quality Rhythm quartz movement that plays Westminster, 4x4 Westminster, 4x4 Ave Maria, or Bim-Bam. 4x4 strike modes chime quarterly and on the hour with the sound of a tubular bell grandfather clock movement. Melodies without the 4x4 will not chime on the quarter hour.
Monitor button to demonstrate the hourly strike. Volume control, night silence between 11:00pm and 5:45am, and 24 hour "on" or "off" selector. 3" (70mm) round speaker with 34" electrical cord. Includes hardware.
I-shaft hand length is .85" (21.7mm). I-shaft means the minute hand must have an oblong hole. The hour hand should have a round hole. Thread length: 9/16" (14mm). Will fit a dial up to 7/16" thick. Kit has serpentine hands for a 6" dial (hour: 2 5/16"L, minute: 3 1/8"L as measured from the hole center to tip).
Requires two C batteries - not included.

Pendulum drive unit size: 4 3/8"H x 2 5/16"W x 1 1/4"D.
The double D-cell battery holder unit: 2 3/4"H x 2 3/4"W x 1 1/4"D.

- Dial and hand mounting hardware
- Brass dial arbor plugs to cover mechanical movement winding holes left open due to battery movement conversion. Other dial functions such as selectors and moon arch will not be functional after conversion to the battery movement.
- Pendulum driver unit with a detached double D-cell capacity. Place the pendulum driver battery unit at a location that is accessible for battery replacement and not visible from the front of case. The recommended maximum pendulum weight is 36 ounces.
- Instructions on how to synchronize between the movement and the pendulum driver
Recommend using alkaline batteries. If the clock begins to lose time or chime weakens, this is a sign of weak or exhausted batteries.
