HERSCHEDE MOVEMENT CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY
Establishing clock provenance can be an especially interesting and rewarding endeavor. Offered is an official Herschede Movement Certificate of Authenticity from the Herschede Hall Clock Company to assist in your clock provenance. The official Herschede Movement Serial Number Records are limited and cover from 1911 when Herschede began making their own movements to approximately 1925 when they stopped recording movement data. The available serial number end date is dependent on the clock model as some model recording ended prior to 1925. The type of Herschede mechanical clocks covered in the records were tubular bell, junior grandfather, petite, and mantel clocks.
Also recorded were the Herschede electric tubular and mantel clocks from 1927 to 1932. The Herschede Hall Clock Company also shipped Herschede made movements to the Colonial Clock Manufacturing Co. from July 16, 1915 during WWI to 1925. If you have a Herschede-Colonial Movement within these years, please order your Certificate of Authenticity with HER-CERT-COLONIAL part number. If you have a Revere Clock Co. electric clock movement between 1927 to 1932, refer to HER-CERT-REVERE or if you have a General Electric clock made by the Revere Clock Co. utilize the HER-CERT-GE part number.
The Certificate of Authenticity would document the Herschede recorded manufacturing date for the movement serial number, dial type, case pattern (if appropriate), if the clock had a 3-vial mercury pendulum, when the movement/clock was shipped from the factory, and to whom it was shipped. The picture provided is an example of a Certificate of Authenticity for a Herschede Pattern 83 Gothic mahagony clock with a large lyre pendulum. If the movement serial number records do not have your serial number or no data is recorded there will be no charge.
Please provide the required information for your Certificate of Authenticity: Movement Serial Number, Clock Case Pattern/Model, Case Serial Numbers, Pendulum Type, and any additional information such as unique signage on the dial, gift plaques on the case, any additional signage and where the signage data is located, etc. The Herschede Certificate of Authenticity is an official document stating the facts from Herschede Movement Records; however, it is not a clock appraisal nor do we offer appraisals. The Certificates of Authenticity are accompanied by a cover letter that will provide any additional information available from Herschede research, the cover letter is addressed to the buyer, so please provide to whom you want the letter greeting addressed and the address.
The Certificates of Authenticity are 8" x 10" for framing and on archival luxury cream colored cardstock with a gold Herschede embossed emblem. Due to the hands-on nature of these Certificates the availability is a minimum of one week plus shipping time.
Privacy Statement: By purchasing a Certificate of Authenticity you are giving Griffen's Clock Parts and Supplies and the Herschede Hall Clock Company permissions to record your clock information in order to facilitate completeness of the Herschede Movement Serial Number Records.
Refer to Herschede-Jauch reference for movement drawings.
